Who is SupaScoot?

Short Answer: I'm SupaScoot...I being me, Scott Fraser. I'm 25, I love comics, movies, TV, video games....okay, well that was pretty much how I described the site, but it's true!

Long Answer: I love all the things I previously mentioned, and I know a great deal about all of them. For some reason my brain retains only the most useless facts and trivia instead of, well, helpful tips for living or math. But what I really love is probably obvious. I love to write. I've been writing for most of my life, since I started reading, and comics have been a big influence for me. So it only makes sense that I would then direct my writing towards comics, and well, pretty much anything else.

So after a life of short stories, imagined comic creations, and postponed novels, I found a new way to express myself. A shorter way, which sometimes works better for me. I started writing news stories and other features for Bam! Kapow!, a known site in the world of internet comic fans. It took a while for me to grow accustomed to it, but after a while I was handing in articles on some breaking news, creating  and collaborating on some loved features, one of my favorites being the Versus! series. Eventually I became the Assistant Editor, and worked with a lot of great writers, many of who are over at Grizzly Bomb, The Nerd Signal, Wozzy's Word, AtheistGirl's Mind Scrapings... We're everywhere, and a lot of them will be featured here at Action News from time to time. I highly encourage you to check all of their sites out. The collaboration experience at B!K! was something I really enjoyed, not to mention just the thrill of building something together that other people enjoyed. The opportunity to work and create with like minded individuals was something I still needed to do.

Which led me to The Urban 30. The Urban 30 is a superhero blog with different writers creating and writing their characters in weekly blogs, telling both individual and "crossover" type stories. I'm still fairly new to it, but you can check out my character Drifter every Monday.

And for the future? I'm not to sure. I'm feeling more and more that I want to make a living writing. But I do love being on the internet. And it's not just the writing, I love to edit. Oddly enough, I get a kick just out of sitting and editing various works of mine, but even more so when I was editing some of my fellow contributers at B!K! So I see a lot of possible directions to go in the future, and am always looking for opportunities (hint, hint), but for right now, as always, if I'm writing I am happy.

This site started as a blog for me to talk about everyday life, and has evolved into SupaScoot's Action News, where I continue to write about what I love. But this site will be as much about me as it will be about Action News.
