'Green Lantern' Update 02.05.11
Now one of the most talked about and debated superhero movies coming out has got to be Martin Campbell's Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/ GL. We've seen a few images and a trailer, and while I like most of what I've seen, nothing so far has blown my mind. Here we have a few marketing images that don't really show us anything new, just better glimpses at some of the plans for the costume and fellow Corps members.
I do think it's interesting that a lot of the images released are for toy and other merchandising ads, which often give us a better glimpse than any movie related images. A lot to cover today so I'm going to fly through these quickly:
From SuperHeroHype:
I really want that hand cannon. Anyways, nothing huge here besides a couple more looks at the costume itself, and an idea as to some of the constructs we might be seeing in the movie.
From /Film:
There's a few more promo images over at the Green Lantern Party Supplies FB page.

New 'Green Lantern' Corps Members Revealed
If you haven't seen the trailer yet then you should probably go watch that first. That's where we got our first look at a lot of the members of the GL Corps, most notably Kilawog and Tomar Re. They weren't the best quality screen shots so /Film has brought us a better look at Tomar Re:
Then a couple more reveals in the form of the Mattel toy line being released with the movie. Here is G'hu, a more recent addition to the comics Corps:
Martin Campbell's Green Lantern comes out June 17, 2011.

The "Green Lantern" Trailer!!!
Here it is folks, we got a preview of it yesterday, the first trailer for Martin Campbell's upcoming Green Lantern.
Sorry about the spanish subtitles, it was the only embeddable copy I could find...
Enjoy:
Awesome. I can't even speak about it right now. Not only is this looking to be one of the best DC movies (the Nolan Batman's don't count, as they were preceded by like 12 terrible movies) in a small list of DC movies, this just might be what the company needs to continue hitting Hollywood with something other than Superman and Batman. I'm ready for it now, I can't wait that long. What does the blogosphere think of this? Yay or Nay?

First Preview of the "Green Lantern" Trailer!!!
Yea, I just shat my pants a little bit. Ha ha ha, just kidding. Heh, jk... Yea, okay, I did, I shat myself. But after the build-up and the sneak peeks from SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con, which I covered here) of Martin Campbell's Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (yum), I bet I wasn't the only one with a little bit of oopsie...
Now this is just a 30s pre-preview for the trailer which will air on Entertainment Tonight on the 15th. But even that gives us our first look at a lot; like Reynolds in full costume, the ring in action, the planet OA, and even Kilowog.
Why am I even talking right now... check it out:
So I'm not afraid to say that I'm geeking out about this, but I can for sure see the other side, and I know that there are going to be a lot of my fellow nerdians who are upset about this, for a lot of reasons. Reynolds doesn't totally fit most people's perspective of Hal Jordan, and we didn't even get a look at Sinestro, played by Mark Strong (Kick Ass, RocknRolla). But I am excited by these 30 seconds we have shared together.
Probably more tomorrow once we get the full look on ET.
