Denis Leary Cast In Spider-Man!?!

What? Yea, true story folks, Denis Leary (Rescue Me, The Ref) is in final talks to star as Capt. George Stacy, Emma Stone/Gwen Stacy's poppa and Spider-Man's sometimes ally. Leary joins a star filled cast with Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, respectively, Andrew Garfield as Petey/Spidey, Zooey Deschanel as Betty Brant (maybe), and Rhys Ifans as the "unnamed" villain (but more than likely the Lizard).

Now those that know the history of Spidey knows that Capt. Stacy doesn't have a huge future ahead of him, as he gets crushed by a falling building due to a battle between Spidey and Doc Ock. With his dying breath he reveals to Spidey that he's always known he was Peter Parker, and he must protect his daughter Gwen. No word on whether this is a storyline they might be looking at for the Spider-Man reboot, but it would be interesting to see.

Do I have any problems with Leary being cast? Hellz no. We are talking about the guy who makes every movie he's in slightly better. I mean, he even made Small Soldiers badass just from his 5-8 mins of screen time. I say bring it.
